Contact Management

Call Commander Pro is a convenient front end for entering new phone calls and Ticklers into ECCO. While a richly featured personal information manager, ECCO has few facilities that focus on phone call management. Call Commander Pro enhances the ECCO environment by providing features needed by professionals who spend time on the phone. Using a form-based approach, Call Commander Pro allows you to record new phone calls and assign the call to any ECCO PhoneBook contact. Phone call histories for those contacts are only a mouse click away. Furthermore, new ECCO Ticklers (like to-do items and appointments) can be entered on-the-fly while remaining in the Call Commander Pro environment.

Pending call records saved with the Call Commander Pro are stored in a special ECCO folder. A convenient pop-up list displays these incomplete call transactions, and a simple double-click on any entry reloads the information into the same form used to create the call. The notes section of the form can be time and date stamped to provide a history of each call in a single call transaction.

Call Commander Pro offers more. Time and billing facilities allow you to bill clients for time spent on the phone. A dialer provides an integrated alternative for use with Call Commander Pro, and offers user-defined prefixes and suffixes, and area code and local 3 digit stripping. Rounding out Call Commander Pro is a PhoneBook Search window for searching by contact names, company, or a special field called Contact Category. Contact Categories are assigned when modifying contact records using Call Commander Pro's contact editor. This contact record field is an easy way to create named phone books within the Call Commander Pro environment.

Catalyst Tools for ECCO, a 16-bit add-in package last updated in 1995 extends the capability and enhances the value of NetManage’s family of ECCO products. There are eight Catalyst Tools:

• Column Math, which lets you do hierarchical totaling of any selected set of items in an ECCO numeric column.
• Date Stamper, which inserts the current date and time into a Date-type folder for any selected item or set of items.
• Popup Phonebook, which lets you access ECCO Phonebook entries from within any Windows application. You can also insert the address into the Windows application, add a note under the selected Phonebook entry, and add a dated Tickler item in the ECCO file without switching to ECCO.
• Spell Checker, which lets you spell check the text of any selected set of items using a 100,000-word dictionary. You can also create as many custom dictionaries as you like, and you can use Microsoft Word-compatible custom dictionaries as well.
• Join and Divide, which lets you join multiple outline items into a single item or divide a single outline item into multiple items. · Automatic Assignment, which automatically assigns an outline item to a column/folder based on the text in that item.
• File Viewer, which allows you to view the contents of a document referenced in your ECCO file without having to launch the application that created it.
• Address Filler, which allows you to automatically fill in the city and state fields in an ECCO phonebook entry simply by entering the ZIP code.

Catalyst Forms for ECCO is a tool for entering and managing data in your ECCO file. Wherever your data is actually being used and displayed, whatever ECCO notepads you have set up, Catalyst Forms can enter data and access that data for later revision.

Catalyst Reporter is an ECCO add-on that provides the power and printing flexibility you’ve always wanted. You can easily create dazzling reports in color or black and white from your ECCO data, complete with imported graphics, your company logo, etc. AND you can put everything exactly where YOU want it.
