I received a new email from Steve Mitchell a day or two ago. He
stated "We [Netmanage] are still considering the open source
initiative and you should see something posted to the group by Archie
Roboostoff from our Marketing group who is working with me to get Ecco
out there"
Jeff
This is really good to hear. Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Jeff,
and for acting as a contact point with Netmanage.

Cool ... I'm sure somebody has addressed this ... but wouldn't the code base
for Ecco Pro be obsolete anyway? For example, reliance on DDE, etc. Would
it be decipherable to anybody but the original coders, who long ago went on
to other things?

It shouldn't be that much of a problem. I've dealt with a couple of
commercial code bases much older than Ecco. Monolithic Win32
applications really haven't changed that much. One thing that will be
messy, because of Ecco's 16 bit heritage, is that there will undoubtedly
be a bunch of cruft left over having to deal with long vs. short
pointers. Nothing that can't be dealt with though.
